Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 19/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system will move eastwards across Tasmania today, reaching the Tasman Sea tonight. On Tuesday, a trough of low pressure will cross South Australia, reaching western Victoria late in the day. The trough will move to eastern Victoria by Wednesday evening where it is likely to remain on Thursday. Meanwhile a cold front crossing waters south of the Bight on Thursday will reach far southwest Victoria late in the day or at night.
Forecast for the rest of MondayDry apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms over the far northeast ranges. A generally mild and sunny day with light to moderate southeast to easterly winds, fresh at times inland during the morning and about the coast during the afternoon.Fire Danger -  Locally high.Tuesday 20 JanuaryCloud increasing from the west during the morning with areas of rain developing over western districts by early afternoon, extending to central and eastern districts during the late afternoon and evening. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change entering the far west at night.Wednesday 21 JanuaryCloudy periods with areas of rain over central and eastern districts easing to scattered showers in the afternoon. Isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible over East Gippsland. Mostly dry in the west, just the chance of isolated light showers over the southwest during the morning. Generally warm in the north and east with light to moderate east to northeasterly winds but milder, light to moderate southerly winds over the far west extending to central districts during the afternoon.Thursday 22 JanuaryDry and mostly sunny in the north. Partly cloudy in the south with scattered showers developing from the west during the afternoon and evening. A warm day with light winds tending moderate to fresh north to northwesterly in the afternoon then west to northwesterly over western districts in the evening.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
