Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 18/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A southerly change that has moved up the NSW coast is expected to stall in the far north early Monday and become a weak trough. A high is expected to move through Bass Strait in the wake of the southerly change, reaching the southern Tasman Sea late Monday and extending a ridge along the New South Wales southern and central coasts. As the high moves further east on Tuesday a broad trough of low pressure will move across the state influencing weather through the middle of the weak bringing unsettled conditions to the eastern half.
Forecast for the rest of SundayMedium chance of showers or drizzle developing on the coast and adjacent ranges later today or tonight. The slight chance of thunderstorms about the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly clear west of the Divide. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Monday 19 JanuaryMedium to high chance of showers in the east, clearing from the south later in the day. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the northeast and the snowy mountains. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. South to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 20 JanuaryHigh chance of showers in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Medium chance of showers on the south and central coasts and ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast winds.Wednesday 21 JanuaryHigh chance of showers with the chance of thunderstorms in the east. Medium chances on the western slopes of the ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds in the east, with a south to southwest change extending from the far west.Thursday 22 JanuaryMedium chance of showers in the northeast grading to a slight chance for other areas in the eastern half.
