MELBOURNE - Jan 17/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1020 hPa south of the Bight will move eastwards over the weekend to be near Tasmania on Monday morning. A trough of low pressure is forecast to move across the far west coast on Monday evening and extend across the remainder of the State during Tuesday and early Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayThe slight chance of light morning showers over the agricultural area south of about Adelaide. Mild near the coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds, freshening near the coasts in the afternoon.Monday 19 JanuaryFine. Warm in the south grading to very hot in the west. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds, becoming moderate to fresh northwest to southwesterly in the far west in the afternoon and evening.Tuesday 20 JanuaryFine day. Slight chance of showers developing over Kangaroo Island and the south of Eyre and Yorke Peninsula in the evening. Warm to hot in the south grading to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northeasterly winds ahead of a milder southerly change in the west extending across western parts during the morning then reaching eastern districts by evening.Wednesday 21 January The chance of showers developing over the southern agricultural area and western coasts during the morning then contracting to the Lower South East district in the afternoon. Mild to warn in the south grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm with possible isolated falls of up to 5 mm about the Lower South East coast. Thursday until SaturdayThe chance of showers over the agricultural area and western coasts contracting to the Lower South East coast during Friday then clearing early Saturday. The chance of showers developing over the far northwest on Saturday.
