Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 17/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A weak high pressure ridge over the western Tasman Sea will weaken further with a cold front will bringing a brief southwest to southeasterly change to the New South Wales south coast today. Another change is expected to reach the south Sunday morning, before extending north along the coast during the day, reaching the far north early Monday. A high is expected to move through Bass Strait in the wake of the second front, reaching the southern Tasman Sea late Monday and extending a ridge along the New South Wales coast. As the high moves further east on Tuesday winds should tend more east to northeasterly over most of the state.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdaySlight chance of showers on the south coast tonight. Fine elsewhere. West to southwesterly winds inland, and northeast to southeasterly winds near the coast.Sunday 18 JanuaryMedium chance of showers near the coast, grading to slight on the adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms about the far north coast. Find and partly cloudy west of the Divide. Southeast to southwesterly winds.Fire Danger -  Very High in the Northern Slopes and North Western Fire AreasMonday 19 JanuaryMedium to high chance of showers in the east. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Find and partly cloudy in the west. South to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 20 JanuaryHigh to very high chance of showers in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Medium chance of showers on the south and central coasts and ranges. Find and partly cloudy elsewhere. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Wednesday 21 JanuaryHigh chance of showers with the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Medium chances on the remainder of the coast and ranges as well as the western slopes. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. North to northeasterly winds in the east, with a south to southwest change extending from the far west to the western slopes and plains.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 am EDT Sunday.Product IDN10031
