MELBOURNE - Jan 15/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure lies across the south of the State. A cold front is expected to move over the Lower South East district on Friday evening, with a southerly change extending northwards into the south of the pastoral districts on Friday afternoon and evening. A high will move eastwards to the south of the State during the weekend. Forecast for the rest of FridayThe slight chance of showers in the Lower South East, extending over the south coast of Kangaroo Island in the evening. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the west and far north. Light winds, becoming moderate to fresh west to southwesterly in the south, and fresh and gusty southerly in the far west in the evening, bringing areas of raised dust.Saturday 17 JanuaryEarly fog patches over the Mid-North and Eyre Peninsula. The slight chance of showers over Kangaroo Island and southeast of about Port Adelaide. Mild near the coasts grading to hot in the far north. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh at times near the coasts.Sunday 18 JanuaryThe slight chance of light morning showers near southern coasts. Mild near the coasts grading to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, freshening near the coasts in the afternoon.Monday 19 January Fine. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the far west. Light to moderate southeast to northeast winds, turning moderate to fresh northwest to southwest in the far west. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Monday are expected to be up to 1 mm, reaching 2 mm in the Lower South East. Tuesday until ThursdayFine. Warm to hot, tending hot to very hot in the north and west.
