MELBOURNE - Jan 14/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure will remain over the State during the week, with a high pressure centre expected to develop south of the Bight on the weekend, before moving slowly eastwards early next week. A series of fronts will move to the south of the State during this week. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe chance of showers over the southern agricultural area contracting south and clear during the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, grading to warm in the north, becoming hot in the far west. Light to moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Friday 16 JanuaryThe slight chance of showers about Kangaroo Island and over the Lower South East district. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the west and far north. Chiefly light winds, becoming mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly from late afternoon.Saturday 17 JanuaryThe slight chance of showers near the coasts. Mild near the coasts grading to hot in the far north. Mainly moderate southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 18 January The slight chance of morning showers near southern coasts. Mild near the coasts grading to hot in the north. Mainly light southwest to southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals until midnight Sunday are expected to be less than 1 mm over the southern agricultural area, reaching 1 to 3 mm in the Lower South East. Monday until WednesdayFine throughout on Monday and Tuesday, then the slight chance of showers near southern coasts and in the South East district on Wednesday.
