MELBOURNE - Jan 11/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near New Zealand extends a ridge towards the New South Wales north coast, directing warm and humid air into a broad low pressure trough that extends into the northeast of the state from central Australia. On Monday the trough will move west and deepen with a low will forming with in it in response to approaching upper-level system. The low and the through are expected to cross the state during Tuesday and Wednesday bringing further rain to the most districts. Forecast for the rest of MondayPartly cloudy in the southeastern inland. Very high chance of rain in the northeast, easing during the day, Medium high chance of showers elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms in the far west. Southeast to northeasterly winds, freshening across southern and central areas.Tuesday 13 JanuaryMedium chance of showers in the northeast. High to very chance of rain elsewhere. The chance of thunderstorms in the northwest. Northeast to northwesterly winds turning southwesterly in the west.Wednesday 14 JanuaryHigh to very chance of showers in the eastern half contracting east. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy in the west. Northerly winds in the northeast, with a west to southwesterly change extending across the remainder.Thursday 15 JanuaryMedium to high chance of showers on the coast and adjacent ranges. Partly cloudy west of the Divide.
