Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 4/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
An almost stationary low pressure trough is over northeast Victoria and will remain in the vicinity during Monday and Tuesday as a ridge of high pressure extends from south of the Bight, across Tasmania to the Tasman Sea. The trough will move to western Victoria on Wednesday as a humid and unstable north to northeasterly airflow extends across the State then will move eastwards across the State later on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of SundayDry. Partly cloudy in the east but clear in the west. Moderate south to southeasterly winds, locally fresh about the coast and ranges this evening.Monday 5 JanuaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the northeast and also near the far northern border, mainly during the afternoon. Fine and generally sunny elsewhere. Mild in the south but remaining warm in the north. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate in the southeast. High to very high elsewhere.Tuesday 6 JanuaryLocal morning drizzle in the south. Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east, mainly during the afternoon. Fine and generally sunny over the northwest. A generally warm day with light to moderate east to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Wednesday 7 JanuaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms extending throughout, mainly during the afternoon. Generally warm in the south and hot over the north. Rather humid with light north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Thursday 8 JanuaryScattered showers and local thunderstorms extending throughout. Generally warm and humid with moderate north to northwesterly winds shifting milder southwesterly over the west during the afternoon.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Monday.Product IDV10310
