MELBOURNE - Jan 3/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation An almost stationary low pressure trough is over northeast Victoria and will remain in the vicinity during Monday and Tuesday as a ridge of high pressure extends from south of the Bight, across Tasmania to the Tasman Sea. The trough will move to western Victoria on Wednesday as a humid and unstable north to northeasterly airflow extends across the State. Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers and local thunderstorms in the north and east. Cool to mild in the south, warmer in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly wind extending throughout. Moderate to fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Generally high.Monday 5 JanuaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east and also in the far north, mainly during the afternoon. Fine and generally sunny elsewhere. Mild in the south but remaining warm in the north. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon coastal seabreezes.Tuesday 6 JanuaryScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east and also in the far north, mainly during the afternoon.
