Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 3/15 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near Woomera to Lameroo moving inland to Yunta to Oodnadatta by lave evening. A high will develop southwest of the Bight on Saturday evening and move slowly eastwards on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayShowers and thunderstorms east of a line Tarcoola to Kingscote contracting northeastwards. Moderate to fresh northerly winds in the northeast, with a milder, fresh southerly change near Woomera to Lameroo pushing inland to a line near Yunta to Oodnadatta by lave evening. Areas of raised dust inland.Sunday 4 JanuaryThe chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of a line Coober Pedy to Keith, more likely about the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts. Mild to warm about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Light to moderate northerly winds in the far northeast, with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds elsewhere.Monday 5 JanuaryThe chance of showers and thunderstorms north of a line Coober Pedy to Lameroo, more likely about the Northeast Pastoral and Flinders districts. Warm to hot about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Light to moderate east to southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts.Tuesday 6 JanuaryThe chance of showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon between the lines Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek and Ceduna to Whyalla to Lameroo. Also a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the Northeast Pastoral district. Warm to hot about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Moderate to fresh east to southeasterly winds.Wednesday 7 January
The chance of showers and thunderstorms developing in the afternoon south of Tarcoola to Renmark but north of Naracoorte, although less likely south of about Streaky Bay to Lameroo. Also a slight chance of shower and thunderstorms north of Coober Pedy to Moomba. Hot to very hot with moderate to fresh east to northeasterly winds becoming northeast to northwesterly during the afternoon, with moderate to fresh east to southeasterly developing about the coasts during late afternoon and evening.
Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with local falls of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms, possibly reaching 10 to 30 mm about the Northeast Pastoral District.
Thursday until SaturdayThe chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over most parts of the State apart from the far northeast on Thursday, contracting to northeast of a line Tarcoola to Lameroo on Friday. Chance of showers redeveloping about the coastal areas on Saturday, with thunderstorms possible east of a line Coober Pedy to Mount Gambier.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
