Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front which moved through much of the state Monday and Monday night weakened in the northeast today. A second front will move along southern and central parts of the coast tonight then stall on the north coast on Wednesday. Only isolated showers near the coast are expected with this change, becoming a little more widespread in the north. A high pressure system will move into the Tasman Sea during Wednesday and is expected to intensify and become slow-moving, with hot, humid northerlies developing over the state late in the week.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdaySlight chance of late afternoon/early evening showers/thunderstorms in the northeast. Slight to medium chance of showers on the south coast in the evening. Mostly clear elsewhere. Northerly winds in the northeast, and a southeast to southwesterly winds across the remainder.Wednesday 31 DecemberMedium chance of showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, becoming less likely over southern and central parts during the afternoon. The chance of thunderstorms on the north coast. Partly cloudy west of Divide. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Thursday 1 JanuaryMedium chance of showers in the northeast with the chance of thunderstorms. Slight chance of showers on the south and central coasts. Partly cloudy elsewhere. Hot day in the west. Becoming humid along the coast. North to northeasterly winds near the coast, variable winds inland. Winds tending southerly in the south.Friday 2 JanuaryScattered showers and thunderstorms over the northeast third. Isolated showers and storms possible remaining northern and eastern districts. Fine in the southwest. Hot in the west. Humid near the coast and in the northeast. Morning fog patches coast and ranges. North to northeasterly winds, freshening along the coast, tending variable inland.Saturday 3 JanuaryScattered showers and thunderstorms, mostly through the north and west. Generally fine in the southeast. Hot in the west.
