Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 29/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A cold front will cross southern Victoria this morning with a high pressure system developing over the Bight later in the day. The high will move across Victoria on Wednesday and will be located in the Tasman Sea at night. A weak cold front will move across Tasmania on Thursday, with a new high building over Tasmania at night. This high will move over the Tasman Sea on Friday and strengthen.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayIsolated showers mainly over southern and mountain areas, mostly clearing by mid afternoon. Dry over the far north. Generally cool to mild, but warm in the northwest. Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds, stronger about the coast.Fire Danger -  Very high in the Mallee. Wimmera and Northern Country, moderate to high elsewhere.Wednesday 31 DecemberFine. Mild in the south, warm in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, easing from the west and tending more easterly later.Thursday 1 JanuaryIsolated morning showers near the coast. Mild in the south but warm to hot in the north. Light winds inland, moderate southwest to southerly near the coast.Friday 2 JanuaryFine apart from isolated showers and thunderstorms over the eastern ranges.
