Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high 1021 hPa south of the Bight is extending a ridge across the south of the State. A front will move across the agricultural areas early on Monday, then another weaker front across the southern coasts on Tuesday morning. Another high pressure system will develop over the Bight later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and mostly clear apart from the chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far northeast. Moderate south to southeasterly winds.Sunday 28 DecemberChance of early morning fog about the South East districts and southwest Murraylands. Chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far northeast clearing during the evening. Also slight chance of showers and thunderstorms about the Flinders Ranges in the afternoon. Otherwise, fine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Monday 29 DecemberSlight chance of showers about the agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance over the southern agricultural area and a high chance over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. The chance of thunderstorms off Lower South East coast during the morning. Showers contracting to the southeast districts during the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southwest to northwest winds, becoming fresh southwest to southerly during the day.Tuesday 30 DecemberSlight chance of showers south of Port Lincoln to Lameroo, more likely over the Lower South East, clearing in the afternoon. Cool to mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at times about southern coasts in the morning.Wednesday 31 December
Fine. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north on Wednesday. Light variable winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Wednesday are expected to be less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area with possible falls of up to 10 mm over the Lower South East.
Thursday until SaturdayRemaining fine but increasingly hot towards the weekend. Cool about the southern coasts grading to hot in the far north, very hot in the far west on Thursday. Very hot conditions extending east gradually to cover the whole State by Saturday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Sunday.Product IDS10033
