Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 27/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure extends across the south of the State. A front will move across southern coasts early on Monday then another high pressure system will develop over the Bight on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayFine and mostly sunny apart from the chance of showers and thunderstorms over the far northeast. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeasterly winds and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Sunday 28 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Monday 29 DecemberSlight chance of showers about the agricultural area, increasing to a medium chance over the southern agricultural area and a high chance over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. Showers contracting to the southeast districts during the afternoon and evening. The chance of thunderstorms over Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East during the morning and afternoon. Cool to mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the north with light to moderate southwest to northwest winds, becoming fresh southwest to southerly during the day.Tuesday 30 December
Slight chance of showers about the southern coasts and ranges, and the Lower South East, more likely over the Lower South East. Cool to mild about southern coasts grading to hot in the north. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh at times about southern coasts in the morning.
Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Tuesday are expected to be less than 2 mm over the northern agricultural area increasing to 2 to 5 mm over the southern agricultural area with possible falls of up to 10 mm over the Lower South East and with thunderstorms northeast of Moomba.
Wednesday until FridayFine apart from the chance of showers developing in the far west during Friday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot in the north on Wednesday, then warming throughout during the period. Mainly moderate southeast to northeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
