MELBOURNE - Dec 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A ridge of high pressure will develop south of the Bight today and extend to the Lower South East coast on the weekend. A front will move across southern coasts early on Monday. Forecast for the rest of FridayThe slight chance of light showers about southern and western coasts during the early morning, otherwise fine. The chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over the far northeast during the day. Cool near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds, tending fresh to strong about northern Spencer Gulf coast in the afternoon and early evening.Saturday 27 DecemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms developing over the far northeast during the day otherwise fine and mostly sunny. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeast winds and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.Sunday 28 DecemberFine and mostly sunny. Warm to hot in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds and afternoon coastal sea breezes.Monday 29 December Slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, south of about Adelaide to Keith. Warm to hot with light to moderate south to southwesterly winds, fresh at times about the coast. Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, reaching up to 10 mm with thunderstorms northeast of Moomba. Tuesday until ThursdaySlight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area and western coasts on Tuesday morning, otherwise fine. Mild to warn in the south grading to hot inland then generally warming throughout during the period.
