Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 23/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will remain near stationary over the far northeast of the State. A ridge of high pressure will extend across the Bight until a front moves over south of the State on Thursday. A new ridge of high pressure will develop south of the Bight on Friday and extend to the Lower South East coast on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayThe slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Moomba. The slight chance of light morning showers about southern and far western coasts. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh about the coasts in the afternoon.Thursday 25 DecemberThe slight chance of showers northeast of Moomba, with the chance of an early morning thunderstorm. The slight chance of showers about southern coasts from late morning, extending over the southern agricultural area during the afternoon and evening and becoming more likely near southern coasts. A slight chance of a thunderstorm about the Lower South East coast in the evening. Cool in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Friday 26 DecemberThe slight chance of light showers about southern and western coasts, mainly in the morning. The slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Moomba. Cool near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds.Saturday 27 December
Fine apart from a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Moomba. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north. Moderate south to southeast winds and fresh afternoon coastal sea breezes.
Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Saturday are expected to be less than 2 mm, reaching 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts and 2 to 10 mm northeast of Moomba.
Sunday until TuesdayA slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast on Sunday. Possible light morning showers about southern coasts on Monday and Tuesday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Wednesday.Product IDS10033
