Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will remain near stationary over the far northeast of the State until Friday. A ridge of high pressure will extend across the Bight until a front moves over south of the State on Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayThe slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Oodnadatta to Broken Hill, contracting northeastwards to be northeast of Marree late evening. The slight chance of morning showers over the agricultural area and West Coast district, more likely about central and southern coasts. Mild, grading to hot in the northeast with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds, tending northeast to northwesterly in the far northeast.Wednesday 24 DecemberThe slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Marree. The slight chance of morning showers about southern coasts and ranges and western coasts. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh about the coasts in the afternoon.Thursday 25 DecemberThe slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Moomba. The slight chance of showers about southern coasts from late morning, extending over the southern agricultural area during the afternoon and evening and becoming more likely near southern coasts. Cool in the south, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Friday 26 December
The slight chance of showers near the coasts Friday, mainly in the morning. Cool near southern coasts, grading to hot in the far northeast. Moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh about the coasts in the afternoon.
Cumulative rainfall totals to midnight Friday are expected to be up to 1 mm over the agricultural area and West Coast district, reaching 1 to 2 mm about central and southern coasts. Falls of less than 2 mm are expected northeast of Oodnadatta to Broken Hill, with isolated totals of 5 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Saturday until MondayFine apart from a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mild in the south, grading to hot in the north, then becoming warm to very hot on Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
