MELBOURNE - Dec 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front over central Victoria will move rapidly to the east of the State this evening. A weak high pressure system will move quickly across Victoria on Wednesday then another cold front will rapidly cross Victoria on Thursday. A new high pressure system will move over Bight waters on Friday before crossing Victoria on Saturday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayScattered showers over the southwest extending to remaining southern areas this evening but remaining dry in the north. Raised dust likely over the northwest. Strong and gusty westerly winds slowly moderating over inland areas tonight.Wednesday 17 DecemberIsolated showers about the coast clearing by the afternoon. A mild to warm and mostly sunny day in the north but cool and partly cloudy in the south. Light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh at first along the Gippsland coast.Fire Danger - Moderate to high.Thursday 18 DecemberScattered showers developing over southern and mountain districts. The chance of afternoon thunderstorms in the east. Warm at first in the north and east but a cooler fresh southwesterly change extending from the west in the morning to reach the east late in the day.Friday 19 DecemberShowers in southern areas becoming isolated from the west. A cool to mild day with moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds.Saturday 20 DecemberFine apart from the chance of an early shower about the coast. A mild to warm and sunny day in the north. Cool to mild and partly cloudy in the south.
