Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 15/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high near New Zealand extends a ridge towards northeast New South Wales, while a trough of low pressure lies near the state's western border. This trough will move east during Tuesday, accompanied by gusty winds in many districts, and is then expected to weaken over the northeast on Wednesday. Behind this, a weak ridge is forecast to pass across southern districts, before another trough arrives on Thursday and Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayFine in the far southwest. The chance of showers or thunderstorms in remaining areas. North to northeasterly winds along the coast, freshening in the afternoon. West to northwesterly winds elsewhere, becoming fresh to strong in most districts, ahead of a southwesterly change in the west.Fire Danger -  Very High, Severe, or Extreme in most districts.Wednesday 17 DecemberA few showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast, and possible showers or drizzle patches developing about the southern and central tablelands. Fine and mostly sunny elsewhere. North to northwesterly winds in the northeast at first, before southwest to southeasterly winds extend throughout.Thursday 18 DecemberShowers and the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Possible showers about the southern and central coasts, and across the northern inland. Fine about the central and southern inland. East to northeasterly winds near the coast, and northwest to southwesterly winds inland.Friday 19 DecemberFine apart from the chance of a shower or some drizzle patches about the tablelands, mainly in the evening.
