MELBOURNE - Dec 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high lies to the southeast of Tasmania and is extending a ridge along the New South Wales. This high will drift slowly east today. The next low pressure trough is expected to approach from the west today, bringing showers to some districts as it crosses New South Wales. Another trough is expected to move across the state during Tuesday and Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of MondayThe chance of showers in most southern and eastern districts, with possible afternoon thunderstorms along the ranges. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds near the coast, with light winds in the west becoming fresh northwesterly later in the day.Tuesday 16 DecemberThe chance of showers in central and eastern districts, with the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms on the southern and central ranges and slopes, extending to the northern inland. Fine in the far west. Northwest to northeasterly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change extending from the west.Wednesday 17 DecemberThe chance of showers on the coast and north. Showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Northeast winds in the northeast. Southwest to southeast winds remainder.Thursday 18 DecemberShowers, more likely over the east and north of the state. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast.
