MELBOURNE - Dec 14/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough of low pressure over the north of the the State will slowly move north and reach the northern border early Thursday. A front will move over the far south of the State on Tuesday before a high moves over the Bight on Wednesday. Another front moves across the south of the State on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayThe slight chance of thundery showers early morning and re-developing in the afternoon over the Northwest Pastoral and about the east of the Riverland and Murraylands districts. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the northeast. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds, fresh near the coasts in the afternoon, tending fresh to strong north to northwesterly over the North East Pastoral bringing areas of raised dust, but southwest to southerly winds extending further northeastwards in the evening.Tuesday 16 DecemberThe slight chance of showers developing over the southern agricultural area south of Adelaide. Possible thundery showers over pastoral districts north of about Woomera, more likely in the far northwest. Mild, grading to hot in the far north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds, tending northerly at times over the North East Pastoral.Wednesday 17 DecemberPossible thundery showers over pastoral districts north of about Woomera, more likely in the far northwest. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the northeast. Light winds, tending moderate southerly in the west and about the coasts.Thursday 18 December Possible thundery showers over pastoral districts north of about Woomera, more likely in the far north. The chance of showers over the southern agricultural area. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the far north. Moderate to fresh south to southwest winds. Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm, with locals falls of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms. Friday until SundayPossible thundery showers in the far northwest.
