MELBOURNE - Dec 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over western Victoria will move over central Victoria today and will remain over central and eastern Victoria on Monday. A cold front will cross Victoria on Tuesday, followed quickly by a weak high pressure system on Wednesday. Forecast for the rest of SundayIsolated showers and local thunderstorms over the far west early this morning then developing over remaining districts during the afternoon, particularly about the ranges. Little if any rainfall expected away from the ranges. Warm to hot with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwest to southerly change in the south and west.Fire Danger - High to Very High.Monday 15 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms developing in the north and east during the afternoon, mainly about the eastern ranges. Fine elsewhere. A generally warm day though milder near the coast. Light to moderate northwesterly winds tending south to southeasterly near the coast.Tuesday 16 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east. Isolated showers developing over remaining southern districts during the afternoon, tending scattered over the southwest. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler west to southwesterly change extending throughout.Wednesday 17 DecemberIsolated showers about the coast and over Gippsland clearing by the afternoon.
