MELBOURNE - Dec 13/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high lies to the southeast of Tasmania and is extending a ridge along the New South Wales. During the weekend this high will drift slowly east. The next low pressure trough is expected to approach from the west late on the weekend, bringing showers to some southern districts as it crosses New South Wales early in the new week. Another trough is expected to move across the state during Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayShowers along the northern coast and ranges. Fine and mostly sunny west of the Divide. Partly cloudy remainder. East to southeasterly winds, fresh at times in the northeast. Dangerous surf conditions along the central and northern coasts.Sunday 14 DecemberThe chance of a shower or two about the northern coast and adjacent ranges. A shower or two and the chance of a thunderstorm on the southern ranges. The chance of a light shower in the late afternoon and evening along the southern border. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Southeast to northeasterly winds near the coast, tending mostly light and variable inland.Monday 15 DecemberThe chance of showers in most southern and eastern districts, with possible afternoon thunderstorms along the southern and central ranges and the southern inland. Fine and partly cloudy elsewhere. Northeast to southeasterly winds near the coast, with light winds in the west becoming fresh northwesterly later in the day.Tuesday 16 DecemberThe chance of showers in central and eastern districts, with the possibility of afternoon thunderstorms on the southern and central ranges and slopes, extending to the northern inland. Fine in the far west. Northwest to northeasterly winds ahead of a west to southwesterly change extending from the west.Wednesday 17 DecemberThe chance of showers on central and southern parts of the coast. Showers and the chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. The chance of late showers in the far west. Northeast winds in the northeast.
