Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred east of Tasmania will move over the south Tasman Sea today. A low pressure trough approaching from the west will move across southwest Victoria this afternoon and evening. The trough will move through central Victoria during Sunday and become slow moving over central and eastern Victoria on Monday. A stronger front will cross Victoria on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayEarly fog patches in the east otherwise fine. A warm and mainly sunny day. Moderate to locally fresh north to northeasterly winds, lighter in the east with afternoon seabreezes developing along the Gippsland coast. A cooler southwest to southerly change entering the southwest this afternoon.Fire Danger -  Generally high to very high.Sunday 14 DecemberIsolated showers and local thunderstorms extending eastwards. Warm to hot with a light to moderate northerly wind ahead of a cooler southerly change in western and central districts.Monday 15 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly in central and eastern districts. Warm in the north but milder in the southwest. Light northerly winds in the north but wind tending southerly in the west.Tuesday 16 DecemberScattered showers extending across mainly southern and mountain districts. Isolated thunderstorms in the east. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of a cooler southwesterly change extending throughout.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
