MELBOURNE - Dec 12/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system near Tasmania will move over the south Tasman Sea on Saturday. A low pressure trough will cross waters south of the Bight on Saturday, entering western Victoria late in the day. The trough will move through central Victoria during Sunday and become slow moving over central and eastern Victoria on Monday. A stronger front will cross Victoria on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of FridayFine and generally clear. Light winds inland and easing seabreezes near the coast.Saturday 13 DecemberEarly fog patches in the east then fine. Warm and mainly sunny with light north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger - Generally high.Sunday 14 DecemberShowers and local thunderstorms extending eastwards. Warm to hot with a light to moderate northerly wind ahead of a cooler southerly change in western and central districts.Monday 15 DecemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms mainly in central and eastern districts. Warm in the north but milder in the southwest. Light northerly winds in the north but wind tending southerly in the west.Tuesday 16 DecemberScattered showers extending across mainly southern and mountain districts. Isolated thunderstorms in the east.
