Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 11/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system to the south of the Bight will move east to be centred over the Tasman Sea this evening. A trough of low pressure will move across the State on the weekend.
Forecast for the rest of FridayFine apart from the slight chance of showers and thunderstorms about the northeast of about Marree contracting east and clearing during the morning. Cool to mild in the south, hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 DecemberFine. Warm to hot about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, tending moderate southerly in the south during the day.Sunday 14 DecemberThe chance of showers developing about the coasts. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of milder, fresh southerly change extending over the west during the day.Monday 15 December
Fine apart from a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northwest corner of the North West Pastoral district. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the northeast. Moderate southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout during the day.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Monday are expected to be less than 2 mm, possibly increasing to localised values of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Tuesday until ThursdayAfternoon showers and thunderstorms persisting about the far northwest corner, possibly extending across northern parts of the Pastoral districts mid-week. A slight chance of showers about southern coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwesterly winds turning southeasterly later in the week.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Friday.Product IDS10033
