Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A complex low pressure trough will drift over New South Wales on Thursday with a small low centre likely to form over the Tasman Sea east of Sydney before pushing northwards on Friday. A high pressure system south of Western Australia move steadily eastwards across Bight waters on Thursday then across Tasmania on Friday and over the southern Tasman Sea on Saturday. The next low pressure trough will cross waters south of the Bight on Saturday before entering western Victoria during Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayWidespread showers over East Gippsland. Isolated showers over remaining southern and mountain areas, clearing in the west during the morning and from central areas in the late afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms in the east, clearing later. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy in the south and warmer in the north. Fresh south to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  Low to moderate in Gippsland. High to very high elsewhere.Friday 12 DecemberIsolated showers over the south, mainly affecting Gippsland, clearing eastwards during the day. Dry and sunny over the north. Cool to mild in the south, but warmer north of the divide with moderate to locally fresh east to southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 DecemberFine and mostly sunny with light north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Sunday 14 DecemberGenerally fine and warm to hot with a light to moderate northerly wind. A cooler southerly change developing in the west during the afternoon and evening with isolated showers possible in the south near the change.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.Product IDV10310
