Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 10/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure system over the far northeast of the State will move east of the border today. A high pressure system to the southwest of the Bight will move east to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Friday. A new trough of low pressure will move across the State on Sunday and Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayThe slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Oodnadatta to Woomera to Clare, more likely over the Flinders and North East Pastoral districts. Showers and thunderstorms contracting to the far northeast by evening. Slight chance of light morning showers about Kangaroo Island, Eastern Eyre Peninsula coast and western coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds extending throughout.Friday 12 DecemberFine apart from the slight chance of early morning showers and thunderstorms northeast of about Broken Hill to Moomba. Cool to mild in the south, hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 DecemberFine. Warm to hot about the coasts, hot to very hot inland. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, tending moderate southerly in the south during the day.Sunday 14 December
The chance of showers developing about the coasts. Warm to hot, grading to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh northerly winds ahead of milder, fresh southerly change extending over the west during the day.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Sunday are expected to be 2 to 5 mm northeast of Clare to Woomera to Oodnadatta, possibly increasing to localised values of 5 to 15 mm with thunderstorms, less then 2 mm is expected elsewhere.
Monday until WednesdayChance of showers over the agricultural area clearing during Tuesday. Showers northwest of Coober Pedy. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeast to southwesterly winds extending throughout during Monday then easing later in the period.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
