Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 9/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system lies well south of Tasmania. A low pressure systems over Western Australia is expected to track eastwards across South Australia on Wednesday then over northern New South Wales on Thursday and Friday. Another high pressure system will cross waters south of the Bight on Thursday then will move across Tasmania on Friday, reaching the Tasman Sea on Saturday. The next low pressure trough will cross waters south of the Bight on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayLocal early morning fog patches in the east. Patchy rain developing over the northwest, mainly during the afternoon and evening. Isolated showers developing across most other districts tending scattered in the east with isolated thunderstorms. Mostly dry over the southwest. Cool to mild in the south but warmer in the north. Light winds tending light to moderate southwest to southerly.Fire Danger -  Generally low to moderate but reaching high in the west.Thursday 11 DecemberScattered showers over the southeast. Isolated showers over remaining southern districts. Isolated showers also near the northern border with the risk of thunderstorms over the far northwest, but clearing during the morning. Cool to mild and mostly cloudy in the south and warmer in the north. Fresh southeasterly winds throughout.Friday 12 DecemberIsolated showers and drizzle patches over the south, mainly affecting Gippsland, clearing eastwards during the day. Dry and sunny over the north. Cool to mild in the south, but warmer north of the divide with moderate to locally fresh east to southeasterly winds.Saturday 13 DecemberFine and mostly sunny with light north to northeasterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes. A milder southwesterly change reaching the far southwest late in the day.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Wednesday.Product IDV10310
