Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad low pressure trough over northern New South Wales lies within a generally warm and humid airmass, while a weakish high pressure ridge extends across southern and central parts. The trough is expected to deepen during the second half of the week in response to an approaching upper-level system, then shift gradually northwards as then next high strengthens over Tasmania. Through this period, many eastern and northern districts are likely to see a resurgence of unsettled weather.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayMedium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms in the northeast, mainly in the afternoon and evening. Slight to medium chance of showers or drizzle patches along the southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Northeast to southeasterly winds near the coast, tending generally light and variable inland.Wednesday 10 DecemberHigh chance of showers in the south, and medium chance over much of the remainder. Thunderstorms possible over the northern inland. Northeast to southeasterly winds.Thursday 11 DecemberHigh chance of rain in the east and north, with possible heavy falls. Medium chance of showers over the remainder. Thunderstorms possible over the northern two thirds. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the north. South to southeasterly winds elsewhere.Friday 12 DecemberHigh chance of rain in the east and north, with possible heavy falls. Dry in the far southwest.
