Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A broad trough of low pressure will remain near the northern border, before deepening later on Tuesday as a low pressure system develops over the northwest of the State which will then move eastwards during Wednesday with an associated low pressure trough. A high will develop southwest of the Bight on Wednesday and then move south of the Bight on Thursday to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Friday.
Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA slight chance of showers and thunderstorms developing during the afternoon and evening to the west of about Coober Pedy to Ceduna, and in the far northeast. A slight chance of light showers developing about Lower Eyre Peninsula, Kangaroo Island and the far south of Yorke Peninsula during the evening. Mild to warm about the coasts with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Temperatures hot to very hot inland with light to moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, freshening in the west.Wednesday 10 DecemberThe slight chance of showers developing over most districts, increasing to a medium to high chance over central parts north of about Kingscote to Keith. Slight chance of thunderstorms north of about Keith, more likely over the Pastoral, Flinders, Mid North, West Coast and Eyre Peninsula districts. Mild to warm with moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds about the coasts. Temperatures hot to very hot inland with light to moderate northeasterly winds, becoming fresh and gusty northerly over the Pastoral districts. Winds shifting fresh and gusty southerly in the far west, extending east to reach Oodnadatta to Broken Hill be evening.Thursday 11 DecemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms over the North East Pastoral, Flinders, Mount Lofty Ranges, Mid North and Riverland districts, contracting northeastwards to clear during the afternoon and evening. Slight chance of light morning showers about the coasts. Mild in the south grading to warm to hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds extending throughout.Friday 12 December
Fine. Cool to mild in the south, hot in the north. Moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Friday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm over the agricultural area north of about Kingscote to Keith, possibly increasing to localised values of 10 to 20 mm with thunderstorms, less then 2 mm elsewhere.
Saturday until MondayThe chance of showers developing near western coasts on Saturday extending over western districts and the southern agricultural area on Sunday, then over most districts on Sunday. Light winds, tending moderate southerly in the south. Winds turning warm to hot moderate northerly ahead of milder, fresh southerly change extending from the west during Sunday and Monday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Tuesday.Product IDS10033
