MELBOURNE - Dec 8/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough over central and eastern New South Wales lies within an unstable, warm and humid airmass. A weak southerly change will move through southern and central parts of the coast during Monday. The trough of low pressure is expected to move over the northeast of New South Wales later in the week with a low centre expected to develop off the north coast. Forecast for the rest of MondayMedium to high chance of showers in the northeast. Thunderstorms likely in the northeast. Medium chance of showers in the southeast. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, southwest to southerly winds elsewhere.Tuesday 9 DecemberMedium to high chance of showers in the northeast. Thunderstorms likely in the northeast. Slight to medium chance of showers along the coast and ranges in the south. Fine in the west. Northeast to southeast winds.Wednesday 10 DecemberHigh chance of showers in the south, and medium chance over much of the remainder. Thunderstorms possible over the northern inland. Northeast to southeast winds.Thursday 11 DecemberHigh chance of rain in the east and north, with possible heavy falls. Medium chance of showers over the remainder. Thunderstorms possible over the northern two thirds. Northwest to northeast winds in the north.
