Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over the northeast of the State will deepen today as an upper level trough approaches from the west. A low pressure system system will form near the southern New South Wales coast on Sunday morning before moving southwards during the day. A high pressure system will move from south of Western Australia to pass well south of Tasmania during the weekend. Another high pressure system will form south of the Bight on Monday before moving to the south of Tasmania on Tuesday. A low pressure trough will approach from the west later on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayWidespread showers over the northeast, scattered showers in southern areas and isolated showers in the northwest. Scattered thunderstorms mainly in the north and east with locally heavy falls in the northeast. Cool in the south, mild in the north with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  High to Very High in the northwest.Sunday 7 DecemberWidespread showers in Gippsland. Scattered showers elsewhere over central and eastern districts tending more isolated over the west. Isolated thunderstorms over the east. Cool in the south, mild in the north with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh near the coast.Monday 8 DecemberScattered showers over the east with isolated showers over remaining southern areas. Fine over the northwest. Mild and mostly cloudy in the south, warm and sunny in the north. Generally light to moderate southerly winds, locally fresh along the coast.Tuesday 9 DecemberIsolated showers in East Gippsland clearing during the afternoon. Fine elsewhere. Mild in the south but warmer over the north. Light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Saturday.Product IDV10310
