Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure will remain near the northern border of the State through the weekend. A high pressure system centred south of the Bight will move southeastwards to be located over the Tasman Sea by Sunday night. Another trough will move over the west on Tuesday then over central and eastern parts on Wednesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayA slight chance of thundery showers in the far northwest. Slight chance of light showers about southern coasts and ranges and the east coast of Eyre Peninsula, most likely during the morning. Mild to warm in the south, hot inland. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts at times.Sunday 7 DecemberA slight chance of thundery showers near the northern border. A slight chance of showers south of about Adelaide, contracting to eastern border districts during the afternoon. Mainly warm to hot with moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds.Monday 8 DecemberA slight chance of thundery showers in the far northeast during the morning. A slight chance of light showers about the southern coasts of Kangaroo Island and Fleurieu Peninsula. Mild to warm in the south, grading to warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Tuesday 9 December
A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northwest of about Coober Pedy late afternoon and evening. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot to very hot in the far north. Moderate northerly winds, freshening in the west ahead of a milder southwesterly change.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, increasing to 2 to 5 mm about southern coasts, parts of the South East districts and near the northern border. Isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm are possible with thunderstorms.
Wednesday until FridayA slight chance of showers extending across central and eastern districts during Wednesday then contracting to coastal parts on Thursday then clear by Friday. Hot in the east with freshening northerly winds ahead of a milder southwest to southerly change extending throughout during Wednesday and early Thursday then turning moderate southeasterly on Friday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
