Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 5/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough lies over central NSW with a warm, humid, unstable airmass over eastern parts of the state. An upper level disturbance will approach eastern NSW on Saturday further increasing the thunderstorms activity and the potential for severe weather. The surface low may develop off the southern coast with more widespread and locally heavy rain likely for the southern coast and adjacent ranges. The low is likely to move away to the south on Sunday as the upper level feature weakens, though a trough and associated isolated thunderstorm activity will persist in the east and south. A further easing in the thunderstorm situation is expected early next week.
Forecast for the rest of FridayShowers and thunderstorms over the northeast half of the state with isolated severe thunderstorms possible. Fine and mostly clear in the southwest. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast, with southwest to southeasterly winds extending across the remainder.Saturday 6 DecemberShowers and thunderstorms over eastern and southern districts, with isolated severe thunderstorms and localised heavy falls possible. Fine and mostly sunny in the far northwest. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the northeast, otherwise southwest to southeasterly winds.Fire Danger -  Very high: Upper Central West Plains.Sunday 7 DecemberShowers and thunderstorms in the east, and possibly along the southern border. Fine and mostly sunny remainder. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the northeast, otherwise southwest to southeasterly winds.Monday 8 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the east. Fine and mostly sunny in the west. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, southwest to southerly winds elsewhere.Tuesday 9 DecemberIsolated showers in the east. Isolated thunderstorms possible in the northeast and about the far southern ranges. Fine elsewhere.
