MELBOURNE - Dec 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A trough moving into western NSW from South Australia is linking with a broad trough already over the state to draw warm humid air from the north across the state. This will lead to unsettled conditions across most districts. The troughs will combine and move slowly towards the northeast of the state on Friday and Saturday before stalling allowing unsettled conditions to continue in the east. Behind this, a high south of the Bight should push some slightly cooler and drier air into western and central districts by the weekend. Forecast for the rest of ThursdayShowers and thunderstorms in most areas except the far southwest, becoming most likely in during the afternoon and evening. Some thunderstorms are expected to be severe, mainly about the central ranges and coasts. Northeasterly winds near the coast, freshening in the afternoon. Northwesterly winds inland, turning west to southwesterly in the west.Friday 5 DecemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms along the southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges, and more broadly across the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny in the far west. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast, with southwest to southeasterly winds extending across the remainder.Saturday 6 DecemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms along the southern and central coasts, and adjacent ranges, the southern inland and more broadly across the northeast. Fine and mostly sunny in the far northwest. Northwest to northeasterly winds in the far northeast, otherwise southwest to southeasterly winds.Sunday 7 DecemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms over the eastern half, and more broadly across the northern and central ranges. Fine and mostly sunny in the far northwest.
