Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 3/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure near Leigh Creek to Keith will move gradually northeast this evening then remain over the far northeast on Thursday and Friday. A high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Friday and Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of WednesdayThe chance of showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastorals and Flinders districts and the north of the Northwest Pastoral contracting northwards during the evening. Showers and thunderstorms clearing from the eastern border area early this evening. Mainly moderate northwest to westerly winds in the north with moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds elsewhere.Thursday 4 DecemberSlight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Coober Pedy to Leigh Creek, more likely in the far north, contracting further northeastwards during the day. Slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area, more likely over the Lower South East district. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about southern and western coasts. Mild to warm about the coasts, hot inland.Friday 5 DecemberThe chance of showers and thunderstorms developing west of Coober Pedy to Ceduna, most likely northwest of Coober Pedy. Slight chance of showers about the southern agricultural area south of about Adelaide. Mild about southern coasts, warm to hot over the remainder. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Saturday 6 DecemberThe chance of thundery showers in the far northwest. Slight chance of showers about southern coasts and ranges and the east coast of Eyre Peninsula. Mild to warm in the south, hot inland. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about the coasts at times.Sunday 7 December
Slight chance of showers about the Lower South East coast. Warm to hot with moderate to fresh southeast to northeasterly winds.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Sunday are expected to be generally 1 to 5 mm, with isolated falls up to 20 mm with thunderstorms.
Monday until WednesdaySlight chance of showers over the far north of the state on Monday then over parts northeast of about Leigh Creek on Tuesday and Wednesday. Slight chance of showers about southern coasts on Monday. Mild to warm about the coasts grading to hot inland. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly winds.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:30 am CDT Thursday.Product IDS10033
