Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 1/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A trough of low pressure lies over the Northeast Pastoral district and a weak high is centred south of the Bight. Another trough over Western Australia will move across the far west of South Australia on Tuesday and then move slowly over remaining districts on Wednesday and Thursday.
Forecast for the rest of MondayA slight chance of showers and thunderstorms north of about Coober Pedy and developing later west of Nullarbor, increasing to a medium chance in the afternoon in the far northeast. Fine over the remainder apart from the slight chance of light morning showers near southern coasts. Mild about southern coasts, grading to hot in the north and far west. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds, tending light and variable in the far northeast.Tuesday 2 DecemberThe slight chance of showers and thunderstorms developing to the north and west of about Leigh Creek to Adelaide, more likely west of about Woomera. Warm in the south, grading to hot over the remainder. Mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, tending southeast to northeasterly in the south.Wednesday 3 DecemberA medium chance of showers and thunderstorms, less likely west of Ceduna. Warm in the south, grading to hot over the remainder. Mainly moderate northeast to southeasterly winds, shifting southwest to southerly in the west.Thursday 4 December
Slight chance of showers and thunderstorms northeast of Leigh Creek to Renmark, contracting further northeastwards during the day. Light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresh about southern and western coasts. Warm to hot about the coasts, hot inland.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Thursday are expected to be generally 2 to 5 mm, with isolated falls of 5 to 20 mm with thunderstorms.
Friday until SundayThe chance of showers developing over the pastoral districts and the western and southern coasts on Friday. The chance of showers extending to most districts on Saturday and then contracting to the northeast during the Sunday.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Monday.Product IDS10033
