Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough over far western Victoria will gradually push eastwards across Victoria overnight and during Monday, before stalling over the northeast Monday night. The next high pressure system will develop south of the Bight on Tuesday and will extend a ridge eastwards across Victoria. The high will pass south of Tasmania later Wednesday as the next trough extends from inland Australia into Victoria. The trough will contract eastwards on Thursday with a low pressure centre expected to form to the east of Tasmania Thursday night.
Forecast for the rest of SundayScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms over the eastern half of the State tending to clear tonight. Mostly dry over the west with only a slight chance of a thundery shower. Light to moderate northeast to southeasterly winds inland shifting southwesterly over western districts this evening.Monday 1 DecemberMorning fog patches over Gippsland. Humid over the eastern half with showers and local thunderstorms. Some heavy falls with storms. Dry over western districts. Warm over the east with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds. A milder west to southwesterly change over western districts gradually extending eastwards and tending fresh southerly about coastal areas following the change.Fire Danger -  Generally high to very highTuesday 2 DecemberIsolated showers and thunderstorms over the far east. Partly cloudy over remaining southern districts with the chance of early morning drizzle about the southwest coast and local fog patches. Dry and mainly sunny over the northern plains. Mild in the south, warm inland. Light winds inland and fresh seabreezes developing along the coast during the afternoon.Wednesday 3 DecemberShowers, more extensive over eastern districts and possibly tending to rain about the eastern ranges. Isolated thunderstorms. Mild in the south, but warm over the north with generally light to moderate southeast to southerly winds, fresh about the coast.Thursday 4 DecemberShowers and isolated thunderstorms, more extensive over eastern districts with possible heavy falls, and tending to clear from the west.
