Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 30/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system centred to the south of Tasmania extends a ridge to another high pressure centre over the central Tasman Sea. A low pressure trough over South Australia will enter western Victoria later Sunday then will gradually push eastwards across Victoria during Monday. The next high pressure system developing south of the Bight on Tuesday will extend a ridge eastwards across Victoria. The high will pass south of Tasmania later Wednesday as the next trough extends from inland Australia to northern Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of SundayEarly fog patches in the south, mainly over Gippsland. A warm to hot and humid day with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing, mainly about central and eastern districts. Generally light northeast to northerly winds, tending fresh northwesterly later in the west before turning westerly in the far west at night. Afternoon coastal seabreezes.Fire Danger -  Severe in the northwest, High to Very High elsewhere but Low to Moderate in Gippsland.Monday 1 DecemberMorning fog patches over Gippsland. Humid over the eastern half with showers and isolated thunderstorms. Dry over western districts. Warm over the east with moderate to locally fresh northerly winds. A milder west to southwesterly change over western districts gradually extending throughout.Tuesday 2 DecemberPartly cloudy in the south with the chance of morning drizzle about the southwest. Fine and mainly sunny in the north. Mild in the south, warm inland. Light winds tending moderate southwest to southerly during the afternoon and freshening near the coast.Wednesday 3 DecemberIsolated showers, mainly in the west and the chance of thunderstorms near the western border late in the day. Mild in the south, but warm over the north with generally light to moderate southeast to southerly winds, fresh about the coast.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Sunday.Product IDV10310
