MELBOURNE - Nov 29/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high centred to the west of Bass Strait extends a ridge over eastern New South Wales, with a second high pressure centre developing off the southern coast. This new high will strengthen and move to the central Tasman Sea over the next day or two, helping direct warmer and increasingly humid air from the tropics over New South Wales. Meanwhile a broad low pressure trough in the state's west should remain slow-moving throughout the forecast period, leading to an unsettled period of showers and thunderstorms across most districts from Sunday onwards. Forecast for the rest of SundayA medium to high chance of showers or thunderstorms in most districts, mainly in the afternoon. The chance of showers is lowest in the far northeast and southwest. Northwest to northeasterly winds, fresh along the coast.Fire Danger - Very High for the Northwest and Upper Central West Plains fire districts.Monday 1 DecemberA medium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms across most eastern districts, with the chances decreasing in the far west of the state. Northerly winds tending southwesterly in the far southwest later.Tuesday 2 DecemberA medium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms for most district. Dry in the far southwest. Northwest winds in the north shifting southwesterly in the south. Northerly winds on the coast.Wednesday 3 DecemberA medium to high chance of showers and thunderstorms in most districts, decreasing to a slight chance on the southern border. A southwest to southeast change spreading through the south.
