Australia -- South Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 28/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A high pressure system south of the State will move slowly southeastwards to be located southeast of Tasmania on Monday. A trough of low pressure near the western border will move over South Australia on Sunday and into the far northeast on Monday, followed by a weak high moving over the Bight. Another low pressure trough will develop near the western border on Tuesday.
Forecast for the rest of SaturdayThundery showers extending over areas west of about Elliston to Coober Pedy, more likely west of about Nullarbor to Ernabella. The chance of thundery showers northeast of about Moomba in the afternoon and evening. Hot with mostly light winds, tending moderate to fresh northerly in the west, becoming moderate southwest to southerly in the far west later.Sunday 30 NovemberThe slight chance of showers over most districts, more likely northeast of Ernabella to Broken Hill. Possible thunderstorms over the Pastoral, Flinders, West Coast and Eastern Eyre Peninsula districts, contracting northeastwards. Hot with moderate northerly winds ahead of a fresh south to southwesterly change developing over the west and near southern coasts, extending over the remainder of the agricultural area in the evening.Monday 1 DecemberShowers and thunderstorms contracting to northeast of about Renmark to Coober Pedy, and developing in the far west from late afternoon. Fine over the remainder apart from the slight chance of showers near southern coasts. Milder over the agricultural area and in the west, hot over the remainder. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout, except for the far northeast.Tuesday 2 December
The slight chance of showers to the north and west of about Leigh Creek to Port Lincoln, and near southern coasts. Showers more likely with the chance of thunderstorms northwest of Moomba to Ceduna. Mostly warm in the south, grading to hot over the remainder. Mainly moderate northeast to northwesterly winds, tending southeast to northeasterly in the south.
Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Tuesday are expected to be generally less than 2 mm, with isolated falls of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms.
Wednesday until FridayShower and thunderstorm activity gradually contracting eastwards, clearing during Thursday, although the slight chance of showers persisting over the agricultural area.The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm CDT Saturday.Product IDS10033
