MELBOURNE - Nov 26/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A low pressure trough over northeastern New South Wales will move west during Thursday as a high pressure system moves towards Tasmania extending a ridge to the north coast behind a cold front crossing the southern Tasman Sea. The high will move over the Tasman Sea on Friday strengthening the ridge across the eastern parts of the state and the trough will move further west and weaken. On Sunday and Monday another trough is expected to bring unstable weather conditions to most parts of the state. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayHigh chance of showers in the northeast with isolated thunderstorms and possible localised heavy rain. Medium chance of showers on the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. Mostly clear remainder. Southeast to southwesterly winds tending east to northeasterly in the northeast.Thursday 27 NovemberMedium to high chance of showers in the northeast grading to a slight chance on the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Mostly sunny over the inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Friday 28 NovemberMedium chance of showers in the northeast grading to a slight chance on the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast. Mostly sunny over the inland. Southeast to northeasterly winds.Saturday 29 NovemberSlight to medium chance of showers on the far north coast. Slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm over the northern inland. Partly cloudy remainder.
