MELBOURNE - Nov 25/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A cold front will move across southern Victoria today. A high pressure system south of the Bight will drift slowly eastwards and will be centred just to the southwest of Victoria on Thursday and Friday. The high will extend a ridge eastwards across Bass Strait to the Tasman Sea. On Saturday, the high will drift southwards but a new high is expected to form over the Tasman Sea. Forecast for the rest of WednesdayIsolated showers near the coast gradually extending across southern and mountain districts today. Remaining dry over the northern plains. Cool to mild with light to moderate southwest to southerly winds, fresh at times near the coast.Fire Danger - Moderate to High.Thursday 27 NovemberFine and mostly sunny. Mild in the south, warmer in the north, with light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.Friday 28 NovemberFine. A mild to warm and sunny day with light winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.Saturday 29 NovemberIsolated showers developing near the eastern ranges. Fine elsewhere.
