MELBOURNE - Nov 24/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high pressure system over the Bight extends a ridge over southern and western parts of the State. A weak trough will pass over the far south of the State on Wednesday. The high will then move slowly eastwards Wednesday and Friday. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayA slight chance of showers about southern coasts and the Lower South East. The chance of thundery showers in the far northeast, mainly in the early morning and from mid afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 26 NovemberFine apart from a slight chance of morning showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East, more likely about southern parts of the Lower South East. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds.Thursday 27 NovemberFine. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot inland. Light to moderate southeast to easterly winds, fresh about the coasts during the afternoon.Friday 28 November The chance of thundery showers developing in the far west on Friday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot inland. Light to moderate southeast to northeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Friday are expected to be less than 2 mm increasing to 2 to 5 mm about the Lower South East coast. Falls of up to 10 mm are possible with thunderstorms. Saturday until MondayThundery showers extending over areas west of Ceduna on Saturday, then the chance of showers extending over remaining parts on Sunday before contracting to the Northeast Pastoral on Monday. Hot throughout then becoming milder about the coasts on Monday.
