MELBOURNE - Nov 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high 1014 hPa over the south of the State will weaken today as a trough of low pressure moves over the west and far south of the State and then extends to the far northeast corner on Monday. An upper level trough moves across the southeast of the State on Monday. A high develops southwest of the Bight early in the week. Forecast for the rest of SundayShowers and thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Thundery showers extending southwards over the agricultural area during the afternoon and evening. Warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north. Light winds, tending moderate to fresh northeast to northwest in the north and a moderate to fresh southerly change in the west.Monday 24 NovemberShowers and thunderstorms over central and eastern parts of the agricultural area, clearing during the day. Showers and thunderstorms over the Northeast Pastoral district, contracting to the far northeast by evening. A slight chance of thundery showers over the remainder, contracting to the far northwest in the afternoon. Cool to mild in the south, grading to very hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds in the northeast, ahead of a fresh southwest to southerly change extending to Moomba late evening.Tuesday 25 NovemberA slight chance of showers about southern coasts and the Lower South East district. The chance of thunderstorms in the far northeast. Cool to mild in the south, grading to hot in the northeast. Moderate to fresh southwest to southeast winds.Wednesday 26 November Fine apart from a slight chance of showers about Kangaroo Island and the Lower South East. The chance of thundery showers in the far northeast in the afternoon and evening. Cool to mild in the south grading to hot in the north with moderate to fresh southeasterly winds. Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Wednesday are expected to be 2 to10 mm over the southern agricultural area, possibly reaching 10 to 15 mm about the Lower South East coast. Falls of 2 to 10 mm with thunderstorms with possible isolated falls of 10 to 20 mm. Thursday until SaturdayFine on Thursday then a slight chance of showers developing in the far west on Friday and extending to reach a line near Ceduna to Coober Pedy on Saturday. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot inland then becoming hot throughout on Saturday.
