MELBOURNE - Nov 22/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A broad low pressure trough preceded by hot west to northwesterly winds is moving across southwestern New South Wales, bringing unsettled conditions to most districts and it will move to the northeast of the state during Sunday and weaken. On Monday a cold front with milder southerly winds behind will move through the west and southeast of the state during the day before weakening into another trough over the far northeast overnight. Behind the front a high pressure system will move very slowly towards Tasmania strengthening a ridge throughout the state. This high is expected to move over the southwestern Tasman Sea during Friday. Forecast for the rest of SaturdayIsolated showers and thunderstorms in the southwest and in the far northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere. East to northeast winds near the coast, tending north to northwesterly inland.Sunday 23 NovemberPartly cloudy on the far north coast and in the far southwest. Medium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the far northeastern inland and slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the remainder. A hot to very hot day in central and northern districts. Northeast to northwesterly winds in the northeast, southerly change extending through the remainder.Fire Danger - Severe in Greater Hunter, Greater Sydney, Lower Central West Plains, Southern Slopes. Very High elsewhere apart from far southern inland.Monday 24 NovemberPartly cloudy on the far north coast. Slight to medium chance of showers and thunderstorms in the remainder, clearing in the southwest later. Hot in the north. Mainly northeast to northwesterly winds, turning milder southerly in the west during the day.Tuesday 25 NovemberMedium chance of showers in the northeast and on the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges. The chance of thunderstorms in the northeast. Partly cloudy elsewhere.. Milder southwest to southeasterly winds extending throughout.Wednesday 26 NovemberMedium chance of showers in the northeast and on the southern half of the coast and adjacent ranges.
