Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 20/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Victoria was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Situation
A low pressure trough crossing the State will clear eastwards overnight. A weak high pressure system will follow the trough, moving across the State Friday afternoon and evening. Another trough will reach western Victoria on Saturday afternoon and central areas Saturday evening, clearing the far east early Sunday. Yet another trough and associated cold front will cross the State on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of ThursdayPatchy rain in the south. Isolated showers over the north. The chance of thunderstorms over the southwest. Fresh northwest to westerly winds turning cooler southwesterly in the west this evening.Friday 21 NovemberIsolated showers in the south and east clearing eastwards during the afternoon with generally sunny conditions to follow. Warm in the north, milder in the south with moderate southwest to southerly winds.Fire Danger -  Generally Moderate to HighSaturday 22 NovemberA warm to hot day with northerly winds freshening ahead of a southwest to southerly change reaching the west during the afternoon and central areas during the evening. Isolated showers developing mainly behind the change and the risk of thunderstorms.Sunday 23 NovemberIsolated showers and the chance of thunderstorms over central and eastern districts contracting to the far northeast by the afternoon. Generally warm to hot inland, but milder near the coast with moderate west to southwesterly winds.Monday 24 NovemberScattered showers and isolated thunderstorms, tending to rain about the northeast ranges. Mild to warm northerly winds ahead of a colder, fresh west to southwesterly change extending from the west.The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EDT Friday.Product IDV10310
