MELBOURNE - Nov 18/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the southeast corner of the State will move eastwards to be over the Tasman Sea Wednesday night. A trough moving across the west of the State on Wednesday will continue over central and eastern parts on Thursday. A front will move over the far south of the State Thursday morning. Forecast for the rest of TuesdayThe slight chance of thundery showers in the far northwest this evening. Cool to mild in the south, warm in the north. Generally light winds, tending light to moderate northeasterly in the far west.Wednesday 19 NovemberShowers and possible thunderstorms extending across the west of the State, reaching a line about Coober Pedy to Victor Harbor late evening. Hot with moderate to fresh northeast to northerly winds ahead of a milder, southwesterly change in the west during the afternoon and evening.Thursday 20 NovemberShowers extending across the State, except the far northeast, clearing from the south and west during the day and contracting to the southern parts of the North East Pastoral district late evening. Possible thunderstorms, clearing to the east during the day. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and west and very hot in the far northeast. Moderate northerly winds in the east, southerly winds elsewhere extending throughout during the day.Friday 21 NovemberA slight chance of morning showers about the southern parts of the North East Pastoral district. The chance of showers about southern coasts. Thundery showers developing in the far north during the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very hot in the north with light to moderate northerly winds turning southerly in the far west in the evening .Saturday 22 November A chance of showers about southern agricultural areas south of about Elliston to Goolwa to Keith. Afternoon and early evening thundery showers over the Pastoral and Flinders districts. Hot to very hot in the north with light to moderate northerly winds, mild to warm about the coast with moderate southwesterly winds extending over agricultural areas during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals through to midnight Saturday are expected to be 2 to 10 mm, with isolated falls of 10 to 20mm possible with thunderstorms. Less than 2 mm is expected over the North East Pastoral district. Sunday until TuesdayContinuing hot to very hot with light winds and afternoon thunderstorms over the Pastoral and Flinders districts.
