MELBOURNE - Nov 16/14 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of South Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
Weather Situation A high over the Bight will remain near stationary as a weak front moves across the southeast of the State this morning. The high will then move eastwards ahead of a trough moving across the west of the State on Wednesday then over central and eastern parts on Thursday. Forecast for the rest of MondayA slight chance of showers about the southern coasts and ranges, clearing during the afternoon. A slight chance of showers about the far north of the North West Pastoral district. Mild in the south, warm to hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, fresh about the coasts during the afternoon.Tuesday 18 NovemberA medium chance of thundery showers developing northwest of about Coober Pedy in the afternoon and evening. Mild to warm in the south, hot in the north. Light to moderate southwest to southeast winds, tending east to northeast in the far west, fresh about the far west coast in the afternoon.Wednesday 19 NovemberThundery showers extending across the west of the State, reaching a line Coober Pedy to Kingscote late evening. Hot with moderate northeast to northerly winds, freshening in the west ahead of a milder, fresh south to southwest change.Thursday 20 November Showers extending across the State, except the far northeast and clearing from the south and west during the day and throughout by late evening. Isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms over the north and east of the Northwest pastoral district, the west of the Northeast pastoral district and the Flinders district. Mild to warm in the south, grading to hot in the north and west and very hot in the far northeast. Moderate northerly winds in the east, southerly winds elsewhere extending throughout during the day. Cumulative rainfall totals from Monday through to midnight Thursday are expected to be less than 2 mm in the south with local falls of 2 to 10 mm in the west, isolated falls of 10 to 20 are possible with thunderstorms. Friday until SundayThundery showers developing in the far northwest on Friday then extending over parts of the Pastoral and Flinders districts over the weekend. Mild to warm in the south grading to hot to very in the north.
